Sustainable Triangle Field Site
The Sustainable Triangle Field Site (STFS) gives students the unique opportunity to use campus as a living laboratory. Students explore urban planning and design, hydrology and ecosystem health in the context of sustainability. The course runs during the spring semester and can be taken as part of the sustainability minor.
Students can gain experience outside the classroom through the EcoStudio program. Offered through Environment, Ecology and Energy Program and the UNC Institute for the Environment, this program matches students with projects at the University and in the greater community. Students gain professional experience in areas such as energy, sustainability, environment, policy, planning and many other fields. Students apply what they learn in the classroom to solve real-world problems.
Students in the program meet once a week with their advisors and other students to talk about their projects. At the end of the semester, participants present their projects.
Visit the EcoStudio page to learn more about the application process.
